I'd imagine that the guy knew about it. He'd most likely be strapped in. How do you not notice those giant bungees going through the roof, or the big cranes outside? Are they trying to say they attached that all after he was sleeping? Must sleep like a rock.

You can see the straps going over him in the gif. He'd keep going as the bed dropped back down otherwise.
