DIY vented 1st Gen Hood Blister

Figured I would post this here...

I've been tempted to do this since the first day I bought this VR4.

    Very dusty...

From the front you would never know...

Drilled 3/8" holes for the sides, after some pilot holes.
Then taped a straight line in between.
Drilled holes between the ends to take out a little material.
Dremeled out the rest and cleaned it up with a small file.
Touched up the holes with black paint.

Looks clean but it also looks like a piggy bank as well. But i am with Atrosity on this, does it do anything?
Your 1993 Mitsubishi 3000GT SL is one of 4310 that received VIN numbers. Based on the order of the serial numbers, your car was the 2685th out of the 4310 that were made that year.

Not sure how much it really does. You can feel a little heat escaping when parked. I have no idea how much is coming out while moving. It can't hurt and from the front it looks stock.

Looks pretty good. Might do this on mine too. Gets way too hot under the hood for my liking. Every little bit helps.

Not going to hurt anything but I doubt they move much air. Looks clean though, good job!

Here's my vents, work really well, made from f/glass with an integrated scoop to direct cool air directly onto the a/filter, these weigh less than the OE bulges, I have had these fitted for over 6 years now, the integrated scoop make's quite a difference and quite noticable when the temp drops.

Those match your Kaze bumper, but not the look I was going for. Too much for my taste. Eventually, I want to get a hood with a subtle vent up front for the radiator or make one out of my own hood.

Sorry for thread ressurection... does anyone else have experience/ideas on hood scoop/blisters like Enigma's or Familymans'...or any update on how the slits have been working out?

Looks like these could be a nice option in lieu of getting a new hood. The summer temps always make me nervous when I see my intake temps at 120 degrees on my logger.
