Wow@the bottom gif. That's a full football length, and then some. He even turns around to make sure the ball is past the marker!! That's disgusting, no matter the teams playing.

so the NCAA refs are as idiotic as the ones in the NFL. maybe we should scout new ones from HS level.

    p.s.

i'm not sure i follow the bottom gif. it looks like he's spotting the ball off where the chain-gang has posted. regardless of where the "yellow line" is super-imposed on the screen, it certainly looks like he's placed the ball centered on that marker.

    p.p.s.

i don't care if dame is million-point under-dogs. fuck bama. Okies got robbed because of the SEC bs. so yes, fuck bama. fuck everything about bama. and i don't even care about the okies one way or the other...but they got royally fucked.

On paper ND has no shot, but then again this is the worst Bama team in the past four years, even worse than the three-loss team they fielded two years ago. Their secondary play is shaky, and if ND can exploit it, expect to watch a nail-biter.

He's not spotting for a fresh set of downs. He's spotting for the next attempt at 1st down, and conveniently moves his spot foot forward about 3 times. Then double checks to make sure he did give the go ahead 1st down.

the way he's looking over his shoulder makes it look like he's spotting off the marker. then again, i don't know much about how referee'ing is done (how they mark the spot, etc).

Oh, he's spotting off the marker...except it's not a fresh 1st down, which is why it's a problem. The yellow line indicates what's needed to get 1st(it is a bit deep vs. the actual marker in this instance). This attempt was short, until the ref gave the ball a little giddy up.

The spot the line judge has called is via his foot. That foot is not to move until the ball is spotted. Obvious shens here. The same with the other gif where the ref switches feet and gave Bama a few more inches.

The only truly tested team of the entire bunch (Florida) just got beat the hell down by Louisville. It was disgusting listening to the talking heads pre-game. They were trying to think of ways Louisville could compete with the vastly superior athletes of the "SEC" (NOT "Florida"). I smiled when I saw the score was 30-10 and guffawed when I realized Florida was incapable of running a hurry-up offense when they absolutely had to. A team with a losing record in the B12 rolled into Tuscaloosa and beat big bad 'Bama. The same 'Bama that, coming into this season, everyone knew would be relatively down. You guys had a dumpster fire in the entire bottom half of the conference, even Mississippi State was a freaking fraud.

That A&M team only had to beat TWO BCS teams with a winning record this season to go 10-2 and earn a heisman. One of those wins came against the fraudulent Mississippi State team. Oh! Oh! They also managed to squeak by that 6-6 Ole Miss team that a terrible Texas team destroyed.

Deeply flawed LSU loses to the second best team in a weak ACC. They also barely beat that same Ole Miss team... Surely you guys expected LSU to "eat Clemson's lunch"... 445 yards later...

So of the 6 SEC teams in the top 10, 4 have played and gone 2-2 (both losses against lower ranked opponents). I like OU against A&M. I think ND will compete with 'Bama and has the potential to win. Unlike last year, at least I'll get to watch an MNC. Go Notre Dame!!!!
