He obviously never paid attention during the days of the Pillsbury Throwboy.

Of course, last season he was the most important part of our defense and he got hurt in week 3.
he is teetering on a bust isn't he? avg a few tackles a game vs chumps? too early to tell I guess... And then Hicks goes and gets in trouble.

mack brown gets all pissy now...

WVU rescinded an offer to a recruit after he committed and then took an unauthorized visit. Just like Mack said, you're either with us, or you aren't. I agree 100%.

I'm fairly sure he was leading the team in tackles per game when he got hurt @ Ole Miss. He was the most important piece of the defense since our LB's had zero experience outside of him. He can (and hopefully will) apply for a medical redshirt for 2012. If he gets it, he'll have 2 years of eligibility left. If he doesn't, 2013 is his last chance to work his way into the draft. I don't think it's fair to call him a bust... yet.

If not....... I like Ash. I like the offense. Year 3 under Manny _iaz has to be better than record setting (BAD) 2012, right?

Here's the QB coming in behind Swoopes... Unlike Swoopes, he was able to win a state title at a high level (4A compared to Swoopes winning just 1 game in lowly 2A)

This was the championship winning play:

But Heard did more than run for 110 yards and four touchdowns in the second half -- he was also dangerous with his arm, completing 8-for-13 passes on the day for 189 yards. Two big scoring strikes helped the Guyer cause, including strikes of 71 yards to Arizona State commit Ellis Jefferson and another of 31 yards.

On the year, Heard accounted for more than 4,000 yards of total offense and 52 touchdowns with a 62% completion percentage in a massively productive junior season that built on the promise he showed as a sophomore as a first-year starter replacing [Okie St QB; JW] Walsh.

    his highlights -

I don't think the B12 is going to be down that much. OU and K-State will most likely be down as it doesn't appear either one has a solid answer at QB; but everyone else I look to improve from last year.

Every team in the B12 should be competent, but whose elite? 2013 is Texas' year to reestablish itself at the top of the B12. OSU and K-State come to Austin. The only road game outside the state of Texas that should be a challenge is @ WVU. No excuses in 2013, Mack.

The only elite team there was this year was K-State. It'll be interesting to see if Waters can come in and play like he did in the JUCO ranks. He tore shit up last year (39 td's, 3 INT's, 12-0 run for the NC).

I'm looking for OSU, TCU, and Baylor to be damn tough. Verdict is out on the rest of the schools, for the moment.

I agree, 2013 is the year UT *needs* to put itself back on the map. Will they? Dunno. For Mack's sake, he better hope it does happen.
