Auburn cans all coaches, brings in entirely new staff, gets two months to recruit, and lands top 10 class.
No other team has had a more impressive signing day IMO. That's quite an acheivement.

Alex Collins, one of the top RB prospects in the nation, was going to Arkansas. He said as much Monday night, making as official an announcement as one can make before National Signing Day. Well, today's signing day, and Collins was not in attendance at the ceremony—a placard with his name was set up, but removed just before showtime.
"The papers are not there. I've been told by two different sources that Alex Collins' mom confiscated the papers and took off and ran with them. They are looking for her currently. From what I understand, Alex is not at the school right now, he is looking for his mom. She was quite torn up about him leaving."
Yeah, it's pretty crazy. Heck, he doesn't even live with her. Lives with one of his coaches. Psssyyycho!

First, this class was going to be small. We knew that going in. If you look at average player rating, it's a top 10 class... The problem was the decommitments and subsequent inability to replace those players. We had a great TE prospect who could have come in and played immediately, but he went to ND instead... It was OK for us not to get a RB this class, but it's never OK to fail to secure a single defensive lineman.
I doubt it, but he's here, so maybe he's a future Terrelle Pryor... I don't see him being the future VY everyone was hoping for.
I guess that's payback for Jordan Hicks (5-star OLB we stole from Ohio in the 2010 class)...

Of course, last season he was the most important part of our defense and he got hurt in week 3.

Why is the class so small? 15 commits; ESPN has UT as the #15 class. That's the size of classes WV had the last few years, and it certainly caught up with them this year. Very concerning there were no d-linemen. Doesn't take long for depth to be a factor with classes like that. Hopefully you all do well this year and get those recruiting classes filled to the brim.
So far, WVU signed 25, and filled every need they had. Could've gotten a little more depth at CB, but they still did good. A 6'4" 220lb punter? LOL, yeah we signed one of those.WV cleaned effin house on rb's. Dreamius Smith and Mario Alford are going to be bosses. QB is going to be an all out competition. Most folks think it's going to be Ford Childress, but it's wide open between Childress, Paul Millard (backup this year), and a true freshman Chavas Rawlins (dual threat guy). Wouldn't surprise me to see a wildcat package put together for Rawlins. Of course we signed several great WR's. Most notably a kid from Ohio, Shelton Gibson. This kid looks like Stedman 2.0.
The thing I like most about this new class is the attitude. Alford stated today, "Get ready Morgantown, get ready for #5, I'm coming in and taking over immediately". That's what WV majorly lacked this year, that killer fight and determination.
Football is sooo far away.

The class was small because the last 3 weren't and there wasn't THAT much attrition from these classes... At least nothing like 2009's class. That was amazingly epic fail.
2010 - 25 - #3 rivals
2011 - 22 - #3 rivals
2012 - 28 - #2 rivals
Due to the lack of attrition we only had something like ~18 schollies to give. So... FINALLY, in 2013, Texas will no longer be among the youngest teams in college football.

When I was in HS our punter was that size or bigger. And then my brother played punter/kicker a few times when he was in HS. He was 6' 3" 300+ lbs at the time. On an extra point the long snapper completely botched the snap and my brother ended up with it in his hands and he threw a pass for a 2 point conversion. One of the refs commented, "That is probably the biggest guy I have seen throw a pass"![]()
