I don't understand how Florida isn't #1. They've played/beaten 3 ranked teams; two of those being top 10. Bama has played Michigan.

I'll take ND over OU. I think the ND defense rattles Landry, which leads to crucial mistakes. However, I am pulling for OU.

I agree that Florida's resume is more impressive. I think two things resonate with voters concerning Alabama:

1) They are defending national champions. I've always said that defending national champions should be #1 until beaten. I think the voters are giving Bama extra points here.
2) They have beaten all of their opponents soundly, and by soundly I mean they've beaten them so bad they've had the second and third string teams in by the beginning of the fourth quarter. That includes vs Michigan.

Very true. I just figured the computers would look really favorably on UF and they would edge out Bama this week, after trouncing USC.

Well, the computers DO have Florida at #1, and they do favor them heavily. In fact, the computers have Alabama at #3 (or they did last week).

I think it's because they've looked like shit. even that SC game. sure the score looked impressive but that's only after SC spotted them 21(or whatever) in the first half. they'll roll allover us this week and to those that don't know UGA they'll think, "Holy shit look what they just did to #10" and not know that UGA only had a 10% chance of winning going into the game just because UF is ranked. hell it'd probably be less if you factored in recent history.

UF will win the East and get destroyed in the SEC Championship game. I'm talking by 35 or more. you just watch.
