Wire another AC (slim) fan on Passenger side?

Electrical diagrams are not my thing, so I am looking for some help
    Pertinent info...
1st gen VR4, AC deleted. AEM EMS. Currently stock rad/ac fan and wiring. Want to have two AC fans.

I've searched both forums, but haven't really found what I'm looking for.

Want to replace the passenger side fan with another AC (drivers) side fan, to give a little more room for my intake setup. I know you have to flip the fan to mount. I need help on the wiring side. Would love to use stock connectors if I can just cut one off the rad fan I'll be removing and wire into second AC fan (already purchased).

May also want to have both fans come on with ign. My FMIC will get a little warm just sitting when car is warmed up, but not warm enough to turn on fans. Thought it wouldn't hurt to have fans come on sooner.

You may need to break it down in small words and pretty pictures for me
    Thanks!!!!

Your stock fan has 2 wires going into the fan motor (1 blue, 1 black).

The 2nd AC fan has 4 wires going into the fan motor (2 blue, 2 black).

Cut the original harness off of your stock fan at the fan motor. Cut the harness off of the 2nd AC fan where it leads into the motor, leaving several inches of wire attached to the motor for you to work with.

This leaves you with a harness removed from the stock main fan, and an AC fan removed from its harness (with a few inches of wire to which you will attach the main fan harness).

Lay out and attach the harness to the fan motor. Keep in mind the locations of connectors on the car, and that you want to keep all of this stuff out of the fan blades. I used a few zip ties to secure it to the legs that hold the fan motor.

Splice two blues from the fan motor to the blue from the harness. Splice two blacks from the fan motor to the black from the harness. (Solder and heatshrink would be appropriate here).

Mount it on the radiator and reconnect everything as it was with the stock fan. Op complete.

BTW, only 3 of the 4 mounting points line up with the AC fan flipped upside down. If you want to get crazy with the cheez whiz and have the 4th mounting point, you can cut that mounting ear off of the fan and plastic-weld it back in the right place, using a soldering iron and a tip you don't care about.

Also when I did mine, I cut reliefs in the fan shroud to add space for the radiator hoses.

The fab of the 4th fan mount is best done with the radiator out of the car (or on a spare radiator) as I wouldn't want to mess with plastic welding with it in the engine bay.

Good luck. All told I spent about an hour on mine including staring at it and having a beer before cutting anything.

    Good luck...

    James

Thanks James! Unless anyone disagrees, those are the instructions I will be following.

3 out of 4 mounting points is good enough for me. I'll have the radiator out to mess with it. Will be trimming down the mounting bosses on radiator to bring fan shroud close to rad, as well.

You can wire the fans to be controlled by the EMS to turn on at whatever temperature you please, if you want to go that route. This way involves a lot more wiring. It's pretty straightforward in this diagram, except you use a low side driver to activate the relay.

Here's what my fan looked like installed:

    Wired up:

    Relays:

I used some bolts out of my mitsu bolt pile to mount the relays. Please note that the relays positioning was for the picture only, and they are mounted upside down.
