    Windows 7 Sexified

Used a free Skinner called Rainmeter with the Omnimo UI Skin

It's completely customizable (widgets, custom tiles, screen elements, rss feeds, etc) and it looks like teh Metro sex.

This is how mine is set after an hour or so (using "Castles of Europe" desktop wallpaper theme). It can fetch a gmail account but I don't have one.

Some other variations that people have come up with.

    Neat, Isaac.
Ranked No. #1 in initial quality

Idiots, simply by being idiots, seem capable of achieving randomly bad things that are beyond the imaginings of sensible people.

Do you remember the Linksys iPhone model from 1998? How about wireless electricity in 1891 developed by Nikola Tesla now being advanced by intel? Those are just a couple I could think of off the top of my head. The fact that an idea was attempted by someone else in 1996 has absolutely NO relevance to the success or failure of a product in 2012.

Somebody created a way to bring the only thing that is terrible from Windows 8, to Windows 7.

    Great.

As a desktop UI Metro is many steps backward.

Linux and Apple should see i nice increase in usage.

    Huh.

Haven't been paying much attention to things OS-wise, lately.

Isaac, I have people PM-ing me to withdraw my support for this Metro thing.

Perhaps you could take another swing at a sell?

Personally I love the Metro style. Id rather have this new look than my desktop being 98% empty just to look at a wallpaper. You can do widgets without a custom theme but I think it looks better with Metro. If you like it that's great, if not then that's your choice. However, it's WAY more customizable than vanilla 7.

I like the new layout, I may lay my computer out at work like this... It seems to be way more usable in this form than the vanilla OS. Windows 8, BTW, is an amazing system, I have it on a tablet here at work and the user response to it has been VERY positive. People want accessibility like they see on a tablet, end of story. Look at your smartphones, they all have apps, widgets, gadgets, etc. All accessible in practically the same format as this. What's the difference? Not seeing a difference here...

Even Linux and Apple have the same layouts in some instances. Linux has many distros that have the same ability to customize the layout. The only problem for Linux is it is not widely used due to a much more heightened learning curve to use it. I don't know what the issue is with people bashing Windows 8 though... I personally like the new layout and the ability to switch out of that layout to the Windows 7 layout is PERFECT. From an IT administration standpoint, when I can give the end user only 1 desktop with the applications I want them to see such as the Windows 8 layout, that is even better because I don't have to sit here and think of all the possible ways that a user can circumvent the system, they just use what they have, period.

Thanks for sharing, ictponder, I am checking it out now and potentially installing it on my system here at work.

Your 1993 Dodge Stealth is one of 6351 that received VIN numbers. Based on the order of the serial numbers, your car was the 5212nd out of the 6351 that were made that year.
Your car was built in the 3rd week of February 1993. Of the 47380 vehicles made at the Nayoga plant, your car was the 40537th vehicle to be created that year.
There are 281 other cars that were made with both the same interior and exterior color. There are 779 cars with the same exterior color and 2316 cars with the same interior color.
Note: The production order is assigned based on the order of the serial number.
