I'd really like to know how old you guys are. Do you realize how many people are in the police force? Now how many bad ones do you hear about? Sure, you're gonna hear more bad stories than good because it makes for a "good" news story to attract viewers/readers. That doesn't mean there are more bad cops than good. Its absolutely ignorant to think otherwise.

If you go on 3si and read the reviews you would swear to God that there is nothing but bad sales there, but thats because only the people with problems pipe up. Its no different here.

That cop should be removed and never allowed to return to the force.

On a positive note; I was pulled over last week for driving a stolen car. Except, I've owned it since 2008. And it's not stolen. My tag came back invalid (random checkpoint). The officer was very polite, and it turns out I had a typo on my registration from day 1 and never even noticed. He ran the tag on my registration, which came back matching my VIN# and valid. He told me if I have the DMV fix my registration, their database they run checks against will be updated in 24 hours or less. Then said drive carefully and have a good day.

Never threatened a ticket. Didn't say a word about my exhaust. And I wasn't in the state my car is registered and insured either.

For every dick, there's 99 good ones, they just don't make the news unless they're rescuing puppies and whatnot.

there are many respectable cops out there that play by the book and i have known a couple for some time. but there have been plenty of scandals in my area like one got caught planting evidence on someone just to arrest him. my girl got t-boned because some dude was stoned out of his mind and ran a stop sign didnt even get a slap on the wrist because the chief of police was there and new the guy. he gave my girl a citation and was set on impounding her car for being the victim! i agree that the corrupt need to be punished but the ones who do their job right need to be commended. you cant say that all cops are bad just because of the few that abuse their power.

I've been pulled over 19 times in my driving career. 4 of those times were by one officer. So I have been pulled over by 16 different officers in 4 different states and the only cop to ever harrass me or be a bad cop was the one that pulled me over 4 times. To say there are more bad cops than good would indicate that I had a huge amount of luck not to run into more bad cops than I did. Thats not the case.

I'll be 30 in a week. And even funnier, I haven't been pulled over in 3 years. Not all of my stops have been due to speeding though.

I've met him. I think he should have been pulled over about 39 times by now. For real. If you've watched him drive a go kart you would understand that a car in his hands is more dangerous than anything Chuck Norris has ever held.

When I moved to the Outer Banks, in the first 2 year span, I was pulled over 42 times. 3 of those times were in the span of 20 minutes by 3 different juristictions. It wasn't because I was speeding (except 2 of those times) and I will admit it, back then I hated every cop because I felt I was being profiled. I was 21-22 back then and I will be 30 next year. I have a whole new perspective on what was happening.

A couple of years before I moved here to a massive tourist location, there was a horrible DUI related accident that killed 4 teenage girls at a massive intersection. When the accident happened, the girls that were killed were only a year or two younger than me. There was a massive lawsuit that targeted local law enforcement because she had been pulled over and let go with a warning as well as the bars that served the offender. This tragedy really struck home in this large but tiny community and law enforcement really stepped up to enforce DUI/DWI infractions to never allow this to happen again.

Now that I am older and able to look back on it, I'm happy they are doing such a great job in making the area I live in safer. If I am pulled over for speeding, it's no one else's fault but my own as the LEO is just doing their job to make that stretch of road safer. Are there stretches that I think the speed limit should be higher? But of course. But I don't live on that stretch of road, nor do I know why the speed limit is set the way it is, but it is my job to obey it or pay the consequences if caught.

    /steps down off the pedestal.
