Well I was able to get an early upgrade for the other half, so she will get an SIII. That means I have 1.5yrs left, she has 2yrs left. My hope is by that time either Verizon will get its head out of its ass, or sprint and T-Mobile will have good LTE coverage in my area. I like the idea of a GSM network in which I can buy a new phone directly from google for cheaper. May go prepaid.

^Yep, I need to upgrade this week. Been putting it off, but the 28th is creeping up, and I don't want to lose my unlimited data. Whichever phone I get will last me several years.

Love my GNex, but its not new. Will have community support for a long time. SIII will be very popular and have support, not sure if it will be unlocked though.

Higher costs of pretty much everything. Network engineers, fight for spectrum, network coverage needed in less population density, huge costs for getting through red tape in building network, etc. If you are building a network in a higher population density country, with far far less area needing coverage, and minimal costs to employ, you'll have much lower costs.

With regards to the SIII, they let you pre-order it, and keep your unlimited data? I'm considering that phone, but figured they'd screw me and say the ship date is after the 28th cutoff and amke me switch to the BS shared data.

Yeah, I talked to supervisor to move my upgrade date up a month then pre ordered online and keeping unlimited was an option online during the purchase. $30 upgrade fee on top of the phone though. BS charge.

Cool, thanks for the info. Yeah, I hate that activation fee, tried to get them to waive it, and they will not bend on it. Several other carriers are doing it too.

I love the features of that phone, but I'm so addicted to physical keyboards that I don't know if I'll be happy without one. I currently have the droid2, and have been heavily considering the droid4.

I had the Droid, now the GNex, the larger screen helps to not need a keyboard, but I know what you mean. I adjusted quick. Without the keyboard you get a slimmer device.

The main thing I liked the keyboard for was games.
