If you find that you DO need an IAC, they can be purchased through RockAuto.com (part is STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS Part # AC99) for $68.79.....
They work very well (I have one in my Spyder)....

I checked the restiance between the pins. Pin 1&2, 2&3, 4&5 and 5&6 looks good with about 30Ohms. However pins 3&4 gives nothing..so im guessing a bad IAC then.
Ill park the car for now, see if I cant order one from RockAuto maybe![]()
You aren't supposed to get anything from 3 and 4 they are not connected.
[06-05, 19:29] OhioSpyderman: Brian, finding a woman is NOT the answer, you need to shop for a good VACUUM
of course not..it would suprise me if I did it correct the first time![]()
so by just measuring the resistance the IAC seems to be good..what is next on the list to check? see if the idle is different without the IAC connected?
i ordered a new IAC from rockauto..110$ shipped..allot cheaper than 1000$ they want from a dealer here
I removed the IAC and this is what I found
as you can see there is allot of crap in there..so I cleaned it, also the IAC needed cleaning.
So after I get this in the car again Ill need to do a idle speed test, but cant find anything on how to do that..
Yes, that's BAD.
Best way to find out if the IAC is working properly is to start if and let it idle (should be a smooth idle somewhere around 750 RPM's.
Then turn on you A/C. If the IAC is working, it should push the idle speed up to around 1200 RPM's...
You can also do another test when at a normal idle (A/C off) turn the steering to the right and left, the RPM's should jump with each turn of the wheel....
Hope this helps..
Bob.
so what if the car wont start after cleaning the IAC and putting it back..what could be the reason? the spring causing the magnetic rotor to jam?
ill disconnect everything tomorrow..dont have the time today :S
Thanks, Bob! If I get the car to start again, ill try and see if the RMP change
OK tried to start the car..and what i feared after reading about the IAC..car wont start..no cranking even..
At first the car just died, had to reset the power on the battery. I took everything apart again, adjusted the piston on the IAC, and instead of loosing power I couldnt get the car to start..
I will be away from the car for 5 weeks tomorrow..this will bug me for awhile now :S
