Nice... I've pretty much decided that I'll be doing a 99 conversion in the next couple years, so I'll upgrade my FMIC then. Currently using an ebay 24x12x3, heh.

The cor I purchased is a TR12 4.5". Treadstone also sells a 3.5" model TR12 which I believe to be the ETS core. FYI Justin, I ordered over the phone and it was at my doorstep 4 days later UPS Ground.
Regarding the size of core vs.undersized turbo's. I've found the larger core is still more effective because of what's gained with a lower AIT. You wil likely lose 500rpms of spool time because it's a huge core, but you can crank the boost up and make more peak power without AIT fallout.
I picked up 10% peak power - also had no power fallout as RPM increased. I picked up rougly 50whp from simply swapping out my old Greddy 3" core. The power increase (I believe) due to the cooler charge temp.
Even if you have TD-04's you can crank the boost up well into the 30's if you're turbo's can generate the CFM. The charge temps will still likely stay below 100 degrees. You can keep rev'ing too with no knock or boost fallout from heatsoak all the way to 8 grand which makes for aswesome shift point power pickup.
For the sake of science I ordered a hotwire anemometer. When it gets here I'm going to CFM test all 6 of my cores and post up the data of the charge temp vs CFM inlet to outlet with a 10K cfm power fan flowing on the outside of the cores and a 1K pumping into the inlets. Stay tuned for the info.

Arrived this morning. Just finished calibrating the velocity rods.
So today sucked at work. I had a really terrible day. When I get in moods like that I like to decompress by working on my car. Today, I mounted the core and built a new impact pad for the front. I started with a jig and just went with it. All in all I'm pretty happy. Can't wait to put the splitter on and the new turb's. As some of you may notice there's a few things moved around, or removed, ha.
Nevermind the testing bla bla for now. Today, I got to enjoy my hobby and loved every min of it. Here's what I ended up with. If anyone has any questions or comments feel free. I took a ton of pics along the way.

I like the design. With a good splitter, this should work out very well. Nice job.
