    Belt for bypassing a/c compressor 415K6 5060415 41.5" 6 rib

I thought this was good info, I had to do a lot of digging to find that this *might* work from the other site.

A 41.5" 6 rib belt will work to route around the a/c compressor WITHOUT removing it. My compressor clutch is shot and making a helluva racket, so I wanted to do this for now until I get a new compressor here.

Autozone calls it a dayco 5060415 or duralast 415K6, but any 41.5" 6 rib will work. It is actually a hair long, the belts almost touch. If I was going to run this forever I'd probably pick a 5060405, but YMMV.

Are you only using the idler pulley and tensioning with the alternator?

I couldn't find my old pulleys (was using timing tensioner) so I bought an idler from a Dodge Caravan and used a 410k6 belt. Have to use a prybar to put it on, work out pretty nicely.

no using stock idler and tensioner pulley. everything is stock, the compressor is jusy bypassed.

How exactly did you route around the compressor? Just from looking at diagrams it looks like the compressor is in the way of the belt from the alternator to the tensioner.

Sorry for the post revival from the dead lol

I did this a few months ago for the same reasons. ended up using a 410K6 which is a little snug and tight to get on but means you dont have to move the tensioner up as far leaving a little bit more room between the belt.

I'm going to be doing it tomorrow. The issue with my car is that I'm running an underdrive pulley. I'm hoping a 388K6 will work (cuz that's what I bought). From what I've been reading it should. How exactly did you route the belt?

Just like normal, but skipping the a/c compressor.

yup, just take the belt around the crank, and above the A/C compressor to the alternator. very easy to do.

OK, I wasn't sure. I'd seen some people say to go above the tensioner and some say to go below it.
