Seuealing brakes.

I recently put some semi-metalic pads on the stealth(tired of the dust from organics). Stopping power seems fine but when cold they squeal when I stop and sometimes from a start. (this has mostly gone away over the two weeks since they were installed. )

Any suggestion on how to make them quieter or is this just the price for less brake dust?

What brand did you put on? Some of the less expensive semi-mets are notorious for being noisy. Did they include shims?

I don't recall the name off hand, They were a decent pad from R1. They did not include shims but the backs were coated. In the past when I've used brakes where the backs were coated I did not need to use the shims to keep them from making noise.
