    Using company phone as personal?

So I have a question for everyone, Does anybody use a corporate phone for both work and personal use?

I just started a new job and get a corporate phone, but we are allowed to use it as our personal phone if we choose. I cannot decide what I want to do, the ~$60 a month savings on my phone would be nice.

I just cannot decide on how I fell having work and personal mixed as one. Any opinions?

use mine for both, but do know that anything you text, email, search, view, use on it can be used against you as it is the property of the company.

Help them, for they know not that which they do not know!

If you're like me, I prefer to own the number I give to family and friends. I've had the same mobile number for 11 years.

If you're looking to save the money, perhaps a Google Voice account would be your solution. That way you can keep the number and move it between phones, but still use the corp. phone in the meantime.

mauybe your company is open to this idea like mine was , in our branch we could only have ten employees on one plan and they didnt want to start another plan just for me when i went their so they pay me 70 dollar a month after taxes to use my personal phone as my work phone, straight up pays my bill and im only required to awnser it during buisness hours and my one weekend a month when on call

I also didn't like the idea of losing my number I have had for close to 10 years either but they are able to transfer my current contract to their account somehow. So I am able to keep my number and current phone and give back the phone they gave me in the mean time. Also we have free upgrades to any phone of our choice every two years.

I am not necessarily concerned about privacy because I have nothing to hide and it seems they truly do not track anything we do on them.

It all seems like a good deal but for some reason I cant decide what to do/ how I feel about giving up my "personal" line.

I have a family pak on my personal acct. which my number is the added number, so I took all the options off that number so it only is 9.99 a month. I have everything from that number call forwarded to my company phone. Now only one phone with 2 numbers on it...

    That's a good idea. +1

Just like its a good idea to keep your business and personal bank accounts separate if you run your own business, I apply the same philosophy to my personal/business phones. It's really a matter of if you feel comfortable giving your personal number, paid by corporate, to your customers. If they're going to call you at odd hours, you might wish you had kept them separated.

That's what I do with my personal cell and work cell. I roll everything to my work cell first thing in the morning at 6:30am.

I also own two additional businesses and roll those two lines together and keep a second cell phone for those. Those numbers get rolled to my employees. Outside of my 9-5 I roll my personal cell into my business cells and take just one phone.

I have call forwarding on every cell number I own so I can forward my business calls to my employees. They take the calls during their work day.

Awhile back before I figured the phone thing out I carried around 4 cell phones. Every once in a blue moon I got caught talking on two or three phones at a time. That method had to go, ha!

As far as tracking your text messages and calls, they could see who and when you called and texted. To actually see what was written or attached in any of the texts they would have to go out and get a subpoena.

I've used a business phone for personal use as well, but in my case, I didn't get called that much, it was mainly to check company emails and respond to them. So, it really felt like a personal phone for all intents and purposes. If I were getting a lot of calls at all hours, I would keep a personal phone too.
