I was recently asked if I can modify a customer supplied ECU.
I typically don't modify other peoples ECU's because some times they dont work... I have gotten a few bad ones already... And unfortunately you can't check it out 100% until after it is modified.
Then when it is bad, your out the money and you still don't have an ECU.. And the original seller won't refund the money once someone else has worked on the ECU.
So it is just bad business practice to put yourself in that position.
That is why I don't modify customer supplied ECU's. I have thought about giving core credit, but have not come up with a figure. With a core credit you won't get the ECU that is supplied back, but it will be thrown into the core pile.
If some one has an ECU already, and wants a core credit, PM me with the ECU part number and I will shoot you a core credit amount.
