Got the ECU and harness today. Looks great! One question about the harness, though. The Tactrix device has the 2.5mm stereo aux female jack for flashing/power, and the harness has a 2.5mm stereo femal jack on the green wire. I'm guessing we need to get a 2.5mm male to male extension cable to connect the two together?

Yuppers... when I ordered my tactrix, it came with an extension 2.5mm stereo male to male cable. But if you dont order the mitsu reflash connector it does not come with that cable.

I will be making 8" male to male cables.. I just ordered the parts yesterday.

I think BlackStealth uses a 2.5mm male plug, but there is voltage present on the reflash pin when the ecu has power applied. A short could fry the ecu.

Ok, I did not order the Mitsu reflash connector, as no one ever posted anywhere that it was needed. And $11 more just to get a male to male cable seems like a lot. Making one should be easy enough, just connect the center pins together on both male plugs, right? Maybe add a switch to open/close that connection if you don't need that power to the Tactrix.

Cool, thanks! No hurry, I still have a TON of engine/tranny/clutch/ABS/AWS/rear diff work to be done before the car is running again and I'm ready to play with the new ECU. Car will be awesome when its all done, but the longer it takes, the more stuff I find to buy to put on, lol.

I was noticing the harness I got (95 fed spec) had about 15 or 16 pins that didn't go to anywhere on the 99 vr4 ecu. Are those features that did not carry over to the 3rd gen like Active Aero and ECS?

You are correct. And there are pins that are just unused on the ECU. BTW, I am just waiting to road test your ECU and then it is ready to ship!

That's a shame. Do you know if the ECU actually controls the active aero, every wiring diagram I could find didn't say anything about that. Just the muffler mode change? I was rather enjoying mine working, but it's a manageable compromise for the advantages gained.

*EDIT* Is that an independent system with the active aero control Unit.

Yep. Your AA should still work even with the flash ECU.

You'll need to wire the dash switch to pin 75 and the active exhaust controller to pin 7 of the flash ECU.
