Granted, but once we had stopped for what we thought was a regular cat, we were committed. I couldn't live with myself if I had stopped, seen it suffering and then left. We were incredibly lucky that he didn't strike out or bite. VERY LUCKY.

If you ever pick up one of these Bobcats, please put it out of it's misery too.

    Lol!

That east coast bobcat looks different from the ones I've seen out here. The California bobcat is a stockier cat with short legs and pointy ears.

I think it's probably a juvenile. Notice how it has no black hair tufts on its ears? The ears do seem to vary, though round is the standard. The tufts are what makes them look pointy.

This, Oh My God this. I couldn't tell you how many times I have heard "Man, I wrecked my car last night. A deer ran out in front of me and I swerved and slid off the road and into a tree."

Me: "Why did you swerve? Why did you not just get on the brakes?"

Them: "Because I figured I could miss it if I swerved"

    :headshake:

I would rather cause minor damage by hitting an animal while hard on the brakes, than cause major damage by losing control because of swerving at speed. Then again, I know the capabilities of my car and my driving. Other people are just idiots.

Sort of the reason I thought they were pulling my leg. Most of the time any injured animal will bite because of the pain and and fear. You guys are very lucky! That being said it was very humane of you guys to help it. I hope it was able to be saved.

I never EVER swerve, but I hit my brakes every time. Swerving is the worst thing you could do, but I hit the brakes with a quickness to avoid hitting something.

It was not. They put it down shortly after we got to the office. Most likely a broken back and internal injuries.

Back in 02 when a deer crushed the passenger side of my Stealth I was close enough to home to run back and grab a gun so I could put the deer out of its misery. Unfortunately, or maybe forruntaly, it got up and took off just as I took aim. Maybe it was just in shock and was able to survive its injuries. I'm with you in not being able to see an animal suffer. Would rather kill it to save some pain.
