Who has used the groups ?
What do you think about them VS forums?

I like the concept. I'd like to be able to search the forum by location to invite people though, or advertise the group or something.

The group owner should be able to invite members from the admin menu.

alan, some people had an trouble finding our random discussion thread in our social group so they just started one in the midwest section which seems to get more hits

Ah, social groups? I prefer the standard forums. On another forum I'm on, social groups don't show up as "posts since your last visit", and it's a hassle to check a separate area to see if anything new was posted. My $0.02
