    Racing seat options

I am looking to replace my stock seats with a more aggressive seat for track use. When I was at Sebring, the harder I push the car, the more I was holding on to the steering wheel and using my knees to keep me in place.

So, would like to find seats that I can mount low to get more headroom. Also, living in FL, perhaps doing leather would not be a great option. So any feedback as to cloth vs suede (overall wear characteristics, things to think about, etc.) would be appreciated.

Also, if anyone has any pics of race seats installed that are reclining and have high thigh bolsters, please share. Looking at Corbeau TRS seats at the moment.

    Thanks in advance.

Just a warning: all the "off-the-shelf" brackets for the 3S cause the seat to sit much too high when compared to the stock seats.

Thanks for the heads up on brackets. Will consider having custom ones done to get the seats low enough.

Also, missed out on your first big brake gb...so hopefully I'll be able to jump in if you do another. Just drop me a pm when you do. Many thanks also on the track advice.

Corbeau is decent but their brackets aren't the best (I'm working with them to fix it) so you'll have to modify them some to get them to work. Custom brackets would obviously solve that issue though.

If you are interseted in Corbeaus let me know and I can probably offer you a bit of a deal. Just PM me exactly what you'll need.

I love my corbeaus but making them low enough was a real challenge. If you end up with them, search for my posts on the subject.

And buy them from maximal Great service and prices.

Don't consider making custom brackets, do make custom brackets.

I've got a Corbeau Fx1 pro and its great, just that the brackets suck.

Ok...going custom brackets to get the seats low enough. Will I still have the option for sliding seats (universal sliders)? Would like to have access to rear seating (hence reclining option). Cloth vs suede?

Any pics with aftermarket seats installed? I know years ago that someone said the CR1's are a tight fit in the car.

I have corbeau A4's, and corbeau brackets, my seats sit lower than stock, and i just had to wallow out the driver side rear outside hole, and passenger rear inner hole, and they fit good, slide easy. The seats hold on tight, and are very comfortable to sit in for a long time. I have 4 point harnesses, and wouldn't suggest those, I just clip it so it's a lap belt, but they are kind of annoying.

This is the only picture i have right now.

How are you guys mounting your seatbelts and what style are you running? That's a big deal with seat selection if you don't want a spinal chord injury.
