The game is FAR from boring, it's just extremely strategic, which may seem overwhelming for most...

FF to 2:10 - I used to be in AAA Alliance, lots of battles.

A year, year and a half ago. The other big issue is you feel so alone in the trial period. No other people no player ships. It felt very isolated. It may just be an issue with the start of the game.

Sounds like that would help alot. I may check it out after the NG and a few side projects are wrapped up.

if you ever feel alone in STO, play on the weekend evenings and visit drozana station. about 50 dancing scantily-clad characters & a chatbox that's exploding.

    p.s.

until you get to roam freely around ESD (earth space dock) for the first time, you are virtually alone in STO...but that's mainly until you get your feet wet.

i'm sorry, but with all the MMORPG's, why in hades would i opt for a franchise i have to PAY a subscription fee for--or at best, have to WORK at keeping my subscription free? furthermore, why opt for one that i know nothing of, versus star trek, star wars or warcraft...which i'm rather well versed in?

it's like asking me to play halo after years of being a die-hard UT fan.

Never felt along in STO because their were NPC's to interact with. IN the time I spent with EVE it was just me, a terminal and my ship.

I've played a few free MMORPG's and they are worth just that, nothing IMO I would rather pay and have a fully unlocked game with no limit as to what is accessible or useable. Plus, internet spaceships > hack 'n slash However, if you simply don't like the game then don't pay for it

i prefer STO. at least i know that i don't have to do shit in the game....JUST TO KEEP PLAYING. yes, there's a lot of stuff that they want you to "buy" to unlock, but you CAN earn enough in the game to actually pay for it without spending a penny. i know. i've already done it.

besides, it's hard to beat 700+ episodes and 11 movies worth of back-story (not to mention countless novels and other previous games) that really add way more depth.
