    Unhappy Factory head unit

I Have a '92 ES that came with the tape deck with the EQ tuning. I also has a factory tape/cd deck out of a '92 R/T that had the steering wheel controls. I plug the tape/cd deck in and everything works but the volume. If I remember right this thing work fin in the R/T. Any ideas or help?

Sounds like a dodgy radio. Electronics have a funny way of playing up when they sit around.... As far as I know the steering wheel controls are just a single wire application with varying resistances for your car. Check the pin that is used for this isn't earthed some how this will/can cause this. Other than that let us know if you have "ANY" volume at all... If not check speaker wires for a short/grounding as this will mute the radio as well (protection). Hope this helps.
