Wheel (front driver's side in this case) sits further out than the rest?

So something has been bugging me about one of my 3Ss. The front driver's side wheel appears to sit maybe a half inch futher out than the rest of the wheels. It's not a problem with the wheel, as it happens no matter what wheel is on there.

I dont think it's a matter of the fender being pushed in, because it appears to sit just as far out from the bumper and side skirts as it does the top of the fender.

I would think if something was bent in there (the frame, the knuckle, whatever) that the wheel would sit further inboard instead of out.

I can't remember if it was always like this, but I did replace both front hub assemblies not long ago. Is it possible that hub was manufactured wrong and places the wheel further out? No, probably not because then the rotor wouldn't sit properly inside the caliper, right?

Any ideas as to what could cause this?

I have this issue with a rear wheel, it was due to how the adjustments panned out on my car, but once reset they look correct. check where you camber bolt is facing, should provide you with a clue on what is going on.

It's not the camber bolts that's for sure. Car is on tein coilovers so camber bolts do jack shit. I have both sides locked into maximum negative camber at the base of the strut. It's not just the top or bottom of the wheel that sticks out. The entire wheel is visibly sticking out further, maybe even closer to an inch lol

You're not understanding, but that's OK, because I doubt you are having the same phenomenon. Unless you have a pic of your top plates and where they are adjusted...

Well what are you trying to say? It sounds like you're implying this is a camber issue. I don't think this is an issue of the top plate being adjusted wrong.

I'm trying to say that you can have in spec camber at two different settings, and will result in a different track width.

Hahaha!! It might have been me! I really can't remember though...
Did have the same issue a while back though... Took her in for an all-wheel alignment to a reputable guy and that problem went away.

Ok I see what you're saying. Like if the bottom was adjusted for maximum positive camber and then the top plate was used to bring it back in to spec that would probably push the wheel out some, correct?

I'm not sure that's my problem though. I have both side set the same way at the bottom. The camber bolt is all the way at the back of the slot (towards the inside of the car) to give maximum negative camber at the bottom. This is how my other car on Megan coilovers is set up and it doesn't have any bizarre wheel sitting way out issues...

I do need an alignment though. Maybe if I get one the problem will go away some how haha
