I just don't understand how you look at that offense and say that the QB is the problem... But there's a reason that all Cleveland has done is chew up and spit out QB's.

I hope Weeden wins the job so Colt can go somewhere else.

B12 produced 3 of the 4 QB's taken in the first round... They better start panning out.

Back to your rantings talk, Adam. CBS sports gave the Browns pick of Weeden an F. Absurd.

Personally, I think Colt is a touch on the short/small side. I don't think he'll make it as the #1, on any team. Sorry.

He was too short to be the man at Texas, too, but beat 6'3" Jevan Snead for the job. Garrett Gilbert was 6'4" and it didn't mean shit for him because he's got terrible mechanics and stares down receivers. Colt is an inch taller than Drew Brees. Brees is his ceiling and they're very similar IMO. Look at Drew Brees in 2002 and 2003 and then look at Colt's first 2 seasons in the league. Hint: They're EXTREMELY similar... Brees got into the right system and now he's a future hall of famer. It looks like the Browns may trade Colt as early as today.

Some more interesting stats: (With Polian's BS grades in parenthesis)

    1. Aaron Rodgers – 8.2 (A)
    2. Ben Roethlisberger – 8.0 (A)
    2. Philip Rivers – 8.0 (A)
    2. Tony Romo – 8.0
    5. Matt Schaub – 7.9
    6. Peyton Manning – 7.6
    7. Tom Brady – 7.5
    8. Drew Brees – 7.4
    9. Jay Cutler – 7.3 (A)
    10. Carson Palmer – 7.2 (A)
    10. Jake Delhomme – 7.2
    12. Mike Vick – 7.1 (B)
    12. Joe Flacco – 7.1 (A)
    14. Eli Manning – 7.0 (A)
    14. David Garrard – 7.0
    14. Matt Ryan – 7.0 (A)
    17. Donavan McNabb – 6.9
    17. Matt Hasselbeck – 6.9
    17. Vince Young – 6.9 (F)
    17. Matt Stafford – 6.9 (C)
    21. Jason Campbell – 6.8 (C)
    21. Josh Freeman – 6.8
    23. Chad Henne – 6.7
    23. Tavaris Jackson – 6.7
    25. Kyle Orton – 6.6
    25. Rex Grossman – 6.6 (D)
    25. Shaun Hill – 6.6
    25. Matt Cassel – 6.6
    25. JP Losman – 6.6 (F)
    30. Mark Sanchez – 6.5 (C)
    30. Trent Edwards – 6.5
    32. Alex Smith – 6.4 (C)
    32. Derek Anderson – 6.4
    34. Ryan Fitzpatrick – 6.3
    34. Colt McCoy – 6.3
    34. Seneca Wallace – 6.3
    37. Sam Bradford – 6.0
    38. Bruce Gradkowski – 5.7

And this does not tell the whole story on Vince. As those of us paying attention have noted, he has made great strides as a passer since 2009. Since 2009, his YPA is 7.6, which would put him firmly in the top 10 of this list.

Interesting question: Who is the best B12 QB in the league?

    Josh Freeman? K-State
    Sam Bradford? OU
    Vince Young? Texas
    Colt McCoy? Texas
    Blaine Gabbert? Mizzou
    RG3? Baylor
    Steven McGee? A&M
    Ryan Tannehill? A&M
    Brandon Weeden? OSU

And then look at 2004. There's a reason Brees got into a better system; he improved exponentially and went to the pro-bowl that year. Cleveland isn't the best place to make a name for yourself, so it's not all his fault, but I don't see him being the man, anywhere, at this point. Maybe he'll prove me wrong; that's a bet I'll take.

3 of those guys haven't even taken a snap in the league.

Right. So answer the question for the 6 that have. Then consider who you would pick if you had to pick one of the 9.

Time line? Dollar amount? Are you betting that he'll never start another NFL game? (obviously starting a game in place of an injured 1st string QB wouldn't count)
