Ranked No. #1 in initial quality

Idiots, simply by being idiots, seem capable of achieving randomly bad things that are beyond the imaginings of sensible people.

i'm really interested in seeing how these teams stack up against each other. 11-1 texans vs the 9-3 patriots, who lost those 3 games by a total of 4 points. with the thin texans secondary, i expect good things from the patriots offense. even without julian edelman and gronk, theyre still a machine-like offense with many, dangerous weapons.
but with arian foster and andre johnson, i expect a solid showing offensively from the texans.

if the texans (JJ) don't win the turnover battle, they won't beat brady in a shootout. even with ridley #6 in running yards this season, the texans defense will shut down the patriots running game.

also, some numbers on just how dominant tom brady/the patriots offense are/have been this season/over the years from sports illustrated. Tom Brady quietly in the middle of another MVP-worthy season - Kerry J. Byrne - SI.com

don't get me wrong, i like the texans. but i want the patriots to win. who do i think is going to win? i'm cautiously optimistic for the patriots.
Should be a great game. After following both teams, I would have to agree with you on this. Patriots seem to have improved over the last few years with their defense and running game. Schaub is good, but they just aren't an explosive team offensively. Patriots are good at making adjustments. If they can adjust to keep JJ Watts and company from batting down passes and out of Tom's face they should prevail.

    they also beat them.

the argument against the Falcons is their schedule is soft. fine maybe it is but why is a team better for losing to the "bad" teams and another not better for beating them? and in most cases it's not just once it's like 3 times.

Falcons have not been crushing everyone else. They've had a piece of cake schedule with a lot of close games. They were living by the skin of their teeth against Carolina at home.

they beat the Broncos that you think between them and the Pats are going to the SB...... so if the schedule is a piece of cake then Broncos are an ingredient in that cake.... frosting perhaps

edit: and they barley beat the worst team in the league the Chiefs. 17-9.

They did. It was at the beginning of the season when the Broncos were struggling a lot too. And they beat them by 6 points at home. That with everything else I've seen from them...not happening. Impressive record, unimpressive team. An all too common story for the Falcons with Matt Ryan.

that last TD was garbage prevent defense. new offensive and new defensive coordinator. Denver barley beat KC 2 weeks ago and that's hardly the beginning of the season. I think everyone will agree KC is garbage. like I said they might have a "soft schedule" but they aren't losing to some of the "soft" teams like supposedly better teams are.

and if I'm not mistaken the Falcons only need to win 2 out of the last 4 to clinch home field. iirc they are something like 34-4 at home. pretty sure that's good by comparison to the rest of the league

funny. i would think it's easier to write-off the falcons than the niners.

i will NEVER consier brady an outstanding QB. he's a good, competant QB backed by an amazing team. i respect what the team has COLLECTIVELY accomplished in the last decade. i CANNOT rank brady that high in good conscience.

for what it's worth, ALL of the texans last 4 games will be the most pivotal to watch. 2 of those are against the colts. this week's game is a road game. texans are 6-0 on the road. if the viqueens pull of a miracle, the colts might even win the division (not going to happen, but theoretically possible).
