"sugar water poured into the gas tank"

I just bought a 93 base 3000gt. I bought it from a kid who said he had "sugar water poured into the gas tank and that a piece broke off in the motor"

Alright so I bought it because it was freakin cheap and the body was perfect. I have a 3.5 ready to be swapped in. I was just messin around and put a good battery in it and cranked the car, it started and then died. I literally heard it run for like 2 seconds. It immediately died each time. It doesn't sound like the motor is knocking or anything.

Where would you guys start? Drain tank, flush lines, then what?

Yes, completely flush the fuel system, new filter. Do a compression check, check spark plugs for residue.

Pull the injectors and have them checked/flushed...

That can be a real mess depending on how much got into the fuel system...

Alright. How should I go about flushing the fuel system? and with what? Just gasoline?

I mean the gas tank should be pretty straight forward but the lines and whatnot seem like they could be a pain. What about the fuel pump?

Fuel pump could be toast.
Injectors could be toast.

Filters are trash. Replace those (the sock on the pump and the main filter).
Get some NGK coppers and replace spark plugs.
Injectors could be stopped up but you can try them after flushing, same goes for the pump. But id get the injectors flushed and checked anyway.
Flush the lines with gas.

Drain the tank. pull the fuel pump and pull out any hardened sugar in there. We had a lady come into my job with the same complaint. Ended up dropping the tank and my coworker pulled huge solid flakes of sugar out the tank. about 5"x5" each. Then do what everyone else said. new filter, check plugs etc.
