Just curious, but if you're doing a 1g to 2g front end conversion and also doing the angry eyes like that, do you even need to replace the hood, since the area where the lights are located, is being re-worked? Just sorta crossed my mind and was curious about it
technically, i don't think you do. but the key problem is that (iirc) the outer corners for where the hood is "cut out" for the headlights is in a different location on 1g vs. 2g. just welding in a straight piece "drawn across the hypotenuse" would give a somewhat different look on a 1g hood--BECAUSE those points differ.
*edit*
also if memory serves, since the 1g hood has a WIDER cut-out (side to side), you'd be leaving a small gap between hood and bumper if you proceeded as above. you would have to devise something creative to deal with that.

Yes the hoods would still need to be swapped out. 1st gen light cutouts are smaller so they overhang the front of the bumper. You can see what I mean in this pic, lok where the front bumper comes up to meet the hgood, the hood is wider in the center section.

Ah yes, I see now...I knew the light cut out was completely different but thought, since it's being re-worked anyway, ya know? But now that you point out the length of the hood...hmm and after seein that, I always thought there was a difference in length or shape of the front end from 1g to 2g, guess that shows it right there
