lost 3S sites.

Further digging in the 3si WWWboard archive. I now have a database with the 14,000 posts in it. I need to make some fixes to my program that scrapes the data out to get things perfect.

This gives us from post 1 March, 1998 through June 7, 1999. 3SI's archive pages show indexs for posts through august of 99 and I am pretty sure it went on for several months past that. 3si nor archive.org has the message files for all those posts. I did a scrape from archive.org last night and I think was able to get a few thousand more.

I only got a few hundred more from archive.org but based on a thread title I found in one of the indexes, I'm pretty sure that the www board ended in aug/99.

So I'm at about 95% right now. Just need jun 9 - 17, July and Aug. The program I wrote to scan the files looks pretty clean now. I am going to try and write code to separate the messages into threads / posts and then get them in a html format. I might be able to get something rough up tonight.

The local version of 3000gt.com its looking pretty good. All the pages look right. Their are a few spots that have old sponsor banners and the like that I want to remove but that should be updated soon.

The javascript footer I made to try and make a 3S sites network (see page bottom) works fine with one problem. Google does not parse it. I'm going to have to write a PHP include-able version to get past that issue. That sucks because it will be harder for others to install.

I talked to coop a while back about getting 3si to change all my urls but I forget where that ended up.

Toni, If you still have access to the penguinhosting site you could put a htaccess file that would act as a 302 redirect for all of the content. Then the links from 3si will auto forward to the new site.

I don't have access to the site anymore. It my was my friend's hosting company I used forever but they decided not to maintain it anymore. Looks like they still own the domain but probably aren't paying for co location anymore. I'll have to see if I can get the domain from them.
