The SRS grounds thru the wiring. No worries there. Same with the alternator too.

Edit: Disregaurd that last comment. The alternator grounds thru the block.

Thanks, I thought for sure the alternator did not ground through the wiring. Guess I'll strip those 2 and coat them completely.

Sorry Greg but not true on the alternator. It definitely grounds through the block

My apologies. You are correct. Looks like I'm slipping....

On some of my cars, I even added a ground wire.

Thanks Jim. I was going to double check to be sure but I could have sworn it definitely grounded through the block. Thanks for the confirmation Jim. Really sad to see that you are selling your car btw.

Replaced the bearing in the power steering belt tensioner. For those interested, the part number is Koyo 6301-2RS.

    More coming soon.

Finally done with my power steering pump. Put more time into this than I care to admit. First I just planned on powder coating the end cover but after taking the pump apart, I decided to dot he whole thing. I originally had the type B power steering pump with the bearing pressed on the pulley shaft. Couldn't get it off myself so I took it to a shop to have them press it off. They bent the pulley and ruined the bearing. Went and bought another pump at the junkyard and got lucky that it was a type A pump used on 95+ cars. This pump has no ball bearing but instead uses an oiled journal bearing type bushing in the pump housing. This allowed me to coat the pulley. Purchased GATES 348840 rebuild kit from Rockauto. Put all the internals through the ultrasonic cleaner. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.

    Fresh from the junkyard:

    Thanks man

Yeah, I'm back into it again. I've been picking up a bunch of parts I needed. The list of stuff I need is still a mile long though so it's going to be pretty slow going.
