about corbeau seats

I'm 6'1" and even with the seat reclined a little I only have a few inches above my head so I bet with a helmet I need to ride gansta style. The CR1s are comfortable. I need to put more padding on the back though because I can feel the springs but maybe somebody took the foam out.

I have the FX1 Pro and am right near 6', with the corbeau brackets I don't know that I'll comfortably sit in it with a helmet on. I'd definitely recommend getting side mount brackets or having your own make. Like Adam said I had to grind on the fucking things for two hours before they finally fit, and barely!

I guess CR1 and LG1 not an option anymore. A4? Less grinding if I'd have to? I must have reclining seat at least on the passenger side. I take my kids for a ride once in a while.

problem is the bottom of the seat is too high, and the GTO roof is too low, I guess you could try popping the seat in the car without brackets and see if it's even low enough then! (might try that, I have CR1's)

I tried using Corbeau's side mount brackets and they were hopelessly "universal". Did you make custom ones?

Still working on it unfortunately. I didn't have time to figure it out before winter and the fact the car was stored in an unheated garage didn't help. With the warmer weather I should have something soon then it's in Corbeaus hands.

Glad to see it's still on the to do list, I'm wondering if it's a lost cause with the seat base design possibly not allowing the seats to go that low anyway (was tempted to remove the rails totally and see where I stand.

That's sad to hear, and no I just stuck with the sliding corbeau ones. If I would ever do it again custom made is the only way I would do it.

It took me two hours using a grinding bit on a drill to widen the holes of the bracket enough to have it actually fit the studs in the car.

Holy crappers, a sunroof takes away that much space for the mechanism?! Jebus, I wouldn't survive. Like 92RT, I have my seat all the way down and don't want to think about moving in there with a helmet hahah

Now, I haven't done this yet due to funding and needing to spend money on repairs rather than enhancements, but check into the EVO 8 and 9 Recaros. It seems we could get the seats to fit w/slight modifications, and if that's the case, there are "low profile" brackets made for the EVOs that drop them even more. Might be worth looking into. I know I will be as soon as I muster up the cash for those seats.
