Exterior color production numbers VR4

I have been looking for a while now and have been unable to find exterior color production numbers for 3000GTs much less VR4s. There are many websites that show stealth numbers, but only total production numbers (sans colors) for 3000GTs.

Anyone have this info?

You can figure it out using the ypass site with your VIN, and finding VINs for cars from the other years that have the same color.

I've had the pipe dream of taking that VIN database and building a little web front end for it so people could see all of the production data. Damnit now I want to do it again

IIRC the ypass site was made by the guy that made that post using the caps data.

I've considered a few times making a webcaps. but I never find the time.

The y-pass/CAPS data is suspect. It's better than nothing, but the only final word on production is Mitsubishi. A good example is the Spyders. 1600 VINs, but only 1034 got built (recently confirmed by Mitsu). Then there's the infamous missing '95 Stealths. We also don't know how many cars got written off as test/prototype cars, and of course none of this accounts for the European and Japanese models which didn't use US style VINs at all.

Yeah, the CAPs data is approximate at best. I've had to seek verified production numbers from both Mitsubishi and Chrysler to get my cars registered as collector vehicles. There numbers were a little off from CAPs. I got 520 95 3000GT VR4 Spyders, 274 99 3000GT VR4s and 365 95 Stealth R/T TTs sold in the United States.
