Rear Diff Filler bolt specs?

Anyone know 100% for sure what the filler bolt thread pitch/size is on the rear diff? Mine is completely F*#$ed and I'd like to find one locally before pulling it, I have no dealer so if I can get the specs, I can hopefully find one at an autoparts store and not have to wait for an order to arrive

I was told it was 18x1.5 but there wasn't 100% confirmation so still taking a guess I'd rather not take

Im sure your auto parts store will have one. Im pretty sure its just a basic plug.. Or go to your parts store and see if they can find out the size if your worried.

Yeah, I'm wanting one in hand to replace at the same time of service, I'm pretty sure we have one here at the store I work at but our comps don't have any info and won't interchange the p/n and this is on my daily driver so I don't want it apart and have to get a ride

Thought I'd end this with the results of my ordering of a new one. Measures out to 16x1.5 which after measuring, wasn't something common, most are 14 or 18...now I just gotta get the old one out...

Good luck getting the old one out. My filler plug on the t-case got stuck. Im not sure how because I didn't tighten it that much. We tried for a long time with a wrench and a vice and a monkey wrench and a pipe wrench and a welder lol. The bolt is rounded and about a quarter of the size. I just decided to not drill it out and use the breather port to fill the t-case.

Mine was thanks to aamco.....fuck that place...the car was previously owned by my dad and the trans was rebuilt by them...trans only has 600 miles on it, I wanted to do a fluid change since the xfer case was leaking after they rebuilt it...so I went through the whole drivetrain...

Trans leaks and new clutch is bad because of it, xfer leaked until I just rebuilt it and rear diff bolt is stuck...gonna try air chisel then take to a friend to weld somethin to the bolt to hopefully gettin out...worse case I'll have to steal the diff off the other car...which sucks cuz I'm in the process of putting it back together and I keep takin parts off It lol

Oh yeah....and we supplied them with royal purple oil and upon draining, it had regular gear oil...niiiiiice.....

Another reason to never take your car to a mechanic except for maybe tires and an alignment.
