I have a FB account. It lets me keep in touch with friends that I do not see any more. I have a standing rule I do not add anyone that I work with as a friend. Work is work and it shall no integrate into my personal life. I will put people from work on my google+ account as some times its been beneficial to have a contact point for when were not at work.

Yes. It even went in front of congress last week, who declared it was within bounds for an employer to request your log in credentials. Congress blocks law that would prevent employers from demanding Facebook passwords

That's the same approach Angie always takes, too. If whe works with you, you're not getting added.

This is a good read. Fictional, but shows what could arise out of this practice:

    I hereby (fictionally) resign - raganwald's posterous

my solution: run your own family social network. I do.
Those, who stand for nothing, will fall for anything.
On the Internet you can be anything you want. It's strange that so many people choose to be stupid.

To be honest, if they requested my FB login I'd just tell them I don't have a Facebook. You won't find me on Facebook by typing in my name.

I feel as though this woman got screwed pretty bad but I don't understand why she let this completely ruin her life. If I were in that position I would obviously take any legal action I thought was necessary against the school, however, I would have made sure to find another income to support my family.

From the 2nd page of the article in the 1st post. "I can't get another income because I'm on this medication," she said. "I break out in hives. Emotionally, this is draining to me."

Also from the 2nd page. "I had a nervous breakdown, went to hospital and was put on medication," said Hester, who has been on unpaid leave since November." I've been in some way more serious shit in my life and not once had a nervous breakdown. Besides, why medicate just from a breakdown? I feel bad for her, but still...
