dr800 rear wg leak help please

i ordered the new metal gaskets with some copper hi heat rtv and it is still leaking , the one thing i did notice is wg had a ring i had to take out to use the new metal gasket, the old gasket was what i would call nomal exhaust gasket, the kit is 5+ years old

Ring doesnt matter. Go to home depot or ace and buy a 12" x 12" sheet of 1/8" thick steel. Transfer the shape onto the metal and cut it out. Drill a hole and then use a die grinder to hone it out so you can gasket match the mating surfaces. When you get done cutting the gasket clean the metal with a scotchbright pad or some 150 grit sandpaper to rough it up. and build a surface profile to accept copper color silicone.

All the metal gasket is for is an expansion surface between the turbo and the wastegate so they dont fuse together over time. You can use any type of copper gasket, or metallic gasket, or just plain sheet metal and add copper silicone on both sides when your done and it will hold. I run straight 1/8" steel plates for my gaskets on my billet TD-05 setup. 32psi and no leaks at the wastgates, turbo flanges, or anywhere. I don't run rtv either, just flange/ steel plate/ flange, and SAE grade 10 exhaust nuts and bolts torqued to 80lbs.
