There's no replacement for displacement.
IIRC There were a handful 1st gen eclipses that were modified gullwings in Japan only. Not sure if it was Mitsu who directed it or the dealerships. I want to say it was for something Japan for a car made in America.
Hmm, I will google fu to see if I can find out more.

I found some information about the gull wing eclipse from machv.com
"Back the nineties, Mitsubishi of Japan, or their dealers (we're not clear on this) decided to do a run of promotional gullwing door Eclipses. There were 15 or so made, at a retail price of $50,000 each. (!!!)"hmmmmi remember someone had a mitsubishi brouchure of the gullwing eclipse's and posted them. so i know mitsu had to have made a few.
