    Rewire Tacho

I am crap at electrical drawings, but since I by-passed the OEM ignition system to fit an 8 channel AEM CDI with AEM coil on plugs I have lost the rev counter.
The CDI has a 12V positive feed for a aftermarket rev counter.
Where would I wire this in to get the OEM rev counter to work again?

Do you have a link to the CDI's install manual? I would imagine that the stock tach wire at the PTU output plug would work but I would prefer to review the cdi manual to verify.

Jeff, you have it installed and working? Cool. What configuration did you use...COP? Have pictures? I am sitting on one of these (4 channel) but it appears that they are such a crap shoot.

    Hi Mate,
Sorry that I havn't updated my build thread lately, I have it all installed & it is working fine but dont forget that I have the 8 channel CDI.
I have used the short AEM COP's and installed using page nine of the AEM CDI manual.
I have a problem with no. 4 injector not working at the mo but hope to sort that this week end.
I will try & update the thread but in the mean time it would be quicker to go to my UK forum for a full update of my latest problems with the build.

in the mean time here is the latest photo of the front COP's installed with a custom plug cover.

Very nice, yes I remember that, I would use the set-up shown on Pg.16 Is it possible to run COP and have them be underneath a aftermarket cover? I would really hate to drill into this:

Thats the problem I had, I have the alloy 3SX one sat in my garrage doing nothing now, I just had a 1.6mm stainless blank laser cut then used a hole saw on it, If you use the AEM COP's even the short ones are too tall to go under the cover and I had to use a plenum spacer to clear the rear ones.

If you have removed the ptu from the ignition system I would run the white wire from the cdi to the white wire in the ptu output plug. If you don't want to mess with doing the wiring in the engine bay you could always run the wire to the tach wire at the ecu which is still a white wire and in the small plug.

Thanks Mate, I have temporarily conected the white wire to the white wire at the PTU conector and all is working again.
