How many of you guys have replaced your carpet?

I’m sure there has been a bunch of threads like this in the past (maybe not here) but I want to replace my carpet soon and would like to know who has had good luck out of on line retailers. Lately is seems a lot of places have let me down so I would like to know who got a quality product at a good price and from who. Did the carpet fit well and seem like good quality? I’d also like to find carpet for the trunk/hatch.

all of the aftermarket carpets suck as far as fitment goes.

We installed an aftermarket carpet in a 3000gt, fitment sucked, and you could see that the fitment sucked. I have never seen an aftermarket carpet that fit or looked good. We have an aftermarket carpet in our truck... WORST IDEA EVER!! LOL It looks OK, but the truck floor is pretty flat, and it was the biggest pain in the ass install, EVER.

What color carpet are you looking for?

I probably have a few near-mint used ones here. I'll pull one out and dust it off for you and get some pictures.

I might do that. Hell I might try and just pull mine out and clean it. Mine might be too far gone though.

I’ll let you know Em, thanks

Start by pulling the old one out and giving it a good steam cleaning. I have gotten some really nasty ones to come out looking almost brand new with just a really good cleaning. I used a lot of Oxy clean and good coarse brush. Work it in really good. Then I hit the whole thing with my home heated rug cleaner. Damn carpet looked brand new when I was done. Took about 3 hours of cleaning but well worth it in the end.

    Check it out on Youtube!!

diluted purple power (for carpets, I usually keep it relatively strong still, more diluted for seats, dash, etc), and a good scrub brush. vacuum. repeat as necessary. I have gotten some of the NASTIEST carpets and interiors (seats included) to look brand new again with this stuff. However, some stains just do not come out no matter what you do. But that would be my first recommendation. pull the seats out, and you can clean it just fine while still in the car. Not necessary to pull it out of the car completely

I pulled the charcoal carpet from my Stealth and power washed it with diluted Simple Green concentrate. Then I left it in the driveway to dry over the course of a couple 90* days.

It looked just about new when I was done.

Did they ever make a black factory carpet? I can't remember....
