    $$$

It's pretty damn easy to modify the cruise cable.

Hm, I don't have any pictures but I'll try to type it out for you.

Basically what you want to do is remove the box and pump & loosen all of the cables. Cut the cable that goes from the pedal to the box, but make sure to keep the blue/yellow plastic "clip" that holds the cable to the gas pedal.

You're going to want to leave the cable that is attached to the plenum, and simply route it back through the firewall. Make sure to use washers on both sides of the firewall. Once you have the cable through, cut the plastic clip in half and snap it onto the new cable & re-install.

I know the description was vague, if you need a picture I can snap one tomorrow.

    I just made a write-up, here you go... I'll post pic's in the A.M.

    Cruise contol MOD

Disconnect all (3) cables from the cruise control box.

Cable #1: Disconnect the cable attached to the gas pedal and remove the two screws at the firewall for the support collar.

Cable #2: Disconnect the cable attached to the throttle body.

Cable #3: Pull the vac control module with attached cruse cable.

Use the OEM throttle body cable (Cable #2) for the cruise control delete MOD. You will need to modify the cable and reassemble and install in this order for it to work and look right.

    1) Take a Pen Torch or Bernzomatic Torch and heat up the cyliner lead ball on the cruise control connection end of that cable until it melts off. It will look like a solderd wire once you melt it off.

    2) Next, take a speed wrench and pull one of the nuts off the end of the threaded cable rod and screw the other one all the way down to the end. Set the nut and cable aside for the next step.

    3) Step three, take the OEM gas pedal cable that you removed from the firewall (Cable #1) and slide the yellow ball collar and rubber ball socket down the cable to the rod guide.

Separated from gas pedal assembly melt off that round ball with a torch (outside the car so you don't burn your floor whe it drops):

    4) Using the torch heat up the spherical lead ball and melt it off the end. Clean up all the residual solder on the cable and then slide off the rubber ball socket and the yellow ball collar.

    5) Take the modified OEM throttle body cable (with the nut bottomed out at the rod) put a fender washer on the end and insert it into the OEM throttle cable penetration at the firewall.

    6) Next, take another fender washer and slide it one the opposite side of the firewall on the rod. Once you slide the washer on take the 2nd nut you unscrewed and tighten it down till the rod is tightly secured at the firewall penetration with the long radius 90 degree bend pointing toward the brake booster.

    7) Pull all the slack from the cable under the dash and slide the yellow ball collar on the cable with the snap groove facing the firewall. Take the rubber ball socket and slide it onto the cable with the crater facing the melted end.

    8) Take a 1/4" diameter round fishing tackle split shot ($1.75 for a 10 pack at Walmart) and crimp it on the end of the cable

    9) Lock the snap groove back into the gas pedal assemly and slide the rubber ball socket over the split shot and slide it into the yellow ball collar seat.

    10) Return to the engine bay and reinstall the OEM throttle cable guide at the plenum and install the cable back in the throttle body.

    11) Bend the solid cable guides as necessary for routing.

    Finished:

    Tools needed:

    14MM socket and speed wrench
    12MM socket and speed wrench
    10MM socket and speed wrench
    Channel locks
    Needle nose pliers
    Bernzomatic Torch

    Materials:

1/4" lead split shot (round with no forks)
    (2) Fender washers
