    Does anyone do Turbo rebuilding?

I am looking for someone to rebuild one 13t for a decent price does anyone do it or know of anyone that does it? I know there are several write-ups on how to do it but I would rather pay someone to do it

wtf 350$... I am opting for the upgrade... rebuilds are over priced.

I mean 500-700 to rebuild? I can get fresh newly rebuilt 15g's for 875$!

Think about how long the stock turbos last. Then think about how long the turbos rebuilt with "ebay kits" last.

You get what you pay for.

You definitely get what you pay for.
I went with Robbecks 13T upgrade/rebuild and have 40k on the clock with still barely any shaft play if any at all (not sure if it's just the wheel turning or a very tiny amount of play).. I've seen a local member have turbo's fail in less than 1000 miles. Do you want to change your turbo's twice? Go somewhere reputable. Robbeck, markoverclock, MTC IMO (not listed in any particular order)

Here's how one of the other sites "reputable shops" does it...
We've had plenty of turbos in from other shops that are hack jobs. If you look at our photo gallery on our site we show pictures of our turbos apart and together, nothing to hide with how we do our work. You do get what you pay for...

Turbo's we've had come in from members on the other board (I dont want to start a bitch fest so I'm not going to say who did the bargain turbo upgrade...
These were machined for 15G's and obviously not done right or they wouldn't be jagged and machined so poorly... Want those aluminum chunks breaking off and going into your motor?

Set of 19T's we got in for a rebuild... No charge for necking them down and not sleeving them, what a bargain!

Being necked down like that really helps the turbo breath...

Here's a set of 17G's... if it was machined all the way through properly the inducer of the wheel would actually fit in the inlet...

Now here is a set of our 15G's. As you can see we machine ours all the way through the same size so they aren't necked down at the opening. We have to press a sleeve on and weld them in order to straight bore them like this.

The only turbo upgrade that doesn't have to have a sleeve pressed on and welded is our 13G. Here is a set of 13G's. As you can see being a straight through bore if these comp covers were machined for larger 15G's etc there would be pretty much nothing left from the original inlet. Just something to keep in mind when you see someone else selling 15G's and they aren't sleeved... they are more then likely not a straight bore and are tapered and necked down.
Anyways, without further ado, here's our 13G's

    Sleeved 15g's

As far as a good rebuild kit to use. How are the G-Pop Shop rebuild kits??? I used their kit on my stock 9b's and I've gotten about 15k so far without issues. Am I lucky or are they a good rebuild kit. Reviews seem to be pretty good......

I've had a set of Robbeck rebuilt/converted 13T's since 2009. I just pulled the motor and trans a few days ago and while the engine was out I decided to check the turbos. After 3 years of daily driving there is still NO shaft play at all. However, I haven't heard of Robbeck doing any turbo stuff in years. If I ever need a turbo rebuild he will be the first person i try to track down just because i've personally had good experience with his work.

MTC seams to also be a good company. i haven’t personally owned any of there turbos, but they seam to be very open with pics/info and at least are always on the forum and communicating with people. Just because of the amount of communication I would trust them.

markoverclock is also another guy whose been doing turbos for years and so far ive never heard anything negative about his work.
    the basic go fast bits...
forged short block, Billet DR1000's, 680cc injectors, meth inj, FMIC, MAFT, Apexi Neo, hotwired 255lph fuel pump.
