Well, even given that it's down to individual taste, it's as we both are saying:

I mean, while she is terminally cute, I cannot call her beautiful - she's not even in the discussion.

I think it's a combination of a few things.
1) She is attractive, no doubt.
2) These lists always seem to go by popularity, and Aniston is a current trend. (this is the major deciding factor, explained below).
3) She gets an extra pity vote because Pitt broke up with her to go after a woman who was perceived to be hotter at the time.
4) She gets another extra pity vote because she's now over 40.

As far as the popularity factor, I could open to a random page in any Victoria's Secret magazine from the past 15-20 years, and there would be a high probability any model from that page is someone I'd consider hotter than Aniston. The thing is, not many people know very many Victoria's Secret models by name.

I mean hell, they have Mila Kunis at #96, and I personally think she's one of the hottest women of at least this current generation...I'd surely put her far better on the list than Aniston. They even have Tina Turner on the list. I'm sure if someone gave me a list of all of the attractive celebrities of the past 100 years, Tina Turner wouldn't even make my top 500. And Audrey Hepburn all the way down at #82 and Paris Hilton at #46? wtf.

It's just a silly list put together by a couple dorks at a magazine. This type of competition can never have a true concensus. Tis why everyone isn't dating the same person; we all have different tastes.

Farrah Fawcett clear down at #31? Sophia Loren at #47? Bo Derek at #56? Rita Hayworth at #58? Audrey Hepburn at #82?!?!?!?! Wow... It's pretty freaking clear what demographic the writers were after...

However, the worst of all...Jenna Jameson being on the list, period. Absurd.
