This is the TT intake runner internal design. Notice there's a V-groove pent roof.

This is the N/A runner design. Notice the ceiling is smooth as compared with the TT design.

    Interesting, never noticed that.

Help them, for they know not that which they do not know!

I was thinking they were vortex generators or something to promote swirl? They align with the valve divider in the heads so hrmm. I wonder if all versions of TT intake manifold have that design? What does your runner look like? Also, what's the total length on it? You mentioned some hood interference? Did you cut down a TT mani or use the N/A lower?

Bill, do you have a pent roof on your TT runners?

All the TT plenums I've seen have that "V".

Before I had TT runner cut out and welded a tank to it, but my new one is xg350 runner so it's a bit taller. The tank doesn't hit the hood, it's the runner right at the knee that hit the hood a little bit. I don't have the manifold here, but the runners are 10" long.

Does anyone even make a real manifold, that bolts to the cylinder heads, and doesn't use the stock lower runners?

Would be difficult to bolt the rear cylinders down as it takes 2 bolts per cylinder, and would have to bolt through the runners.

Nelson. Plenum volume looks small. Requires new fuel rails. $3000. Not sure if it comes with rails. Too rich for me so I didn't ask him for more details.
    1992 Kilder Green VR4 - First 4G swap in a 3S. 2.0, auto, awd. 9.65 at 143mph. Now LS swapped. 8.52 at 162.

He's had several variations since 2009. There's several pics on his fb page. I'm scratching my head as to how he gets to the lower fasteners. I'm guessing you have to disconnect the fuel system?
