Windows Mobile had 2.7% market share in 3rd quarter of 2010. 3rd quarter of 2011 they dropped down to 1.5% market share.
So Windows Mobile is only 1.5% of market share?

Oh I don't take any of Mike's thread seriously![]()
Its good humor to get me through the day. Admittedly, its a bit like picking on the retarded kid. But he's not retarded so its ok.![]()
well i was trolling... but what apps? there a ton out for wp7.5 now... and don't say Pandora...
Its okay Wp 7 is the highest selling phones in europe now so the market share will grow.
Once they actually launch wp7 in the us it will grow, so dont worry! Personally that doesn't really make a huge factor on my phone choices.
Alan your just a ms hater so I understandthe "menu" system was designed to be more efficient and it is. If you study application optimization theories...
Its why Android is trying to copy WP7 with ice cream sandwich? Because it sees the efficiency...

In my experience most "design theories" fall flat on their face in real world usage.
I'll says it again.
Lori had a WM7 phone for a year. I never like the way it worked. The lack of control over what showed up where in the UI annoyed me. Having to dig for apps or setting annoyed me and placement seemed random. And their were the dumb things like the RDP app that she used. It cost $15 was the only one we could find and it did not work as well as the free one on my Android.
When it needed to be replaced, she could have gotten a new WM7 phone if she wanted. She got a Galaxy SII and is very happy with it.
She had the non multitasking version... yeah it was a pain and so was the first release of android.
RDP apps are free...
dig for apps? hah now your just full of it. You can easily adjust tiles to show whatever you want and settings.
this is what Android is attempting to copy.
You also need to do some reading on UI design...
"visual explanations" by this guy is a good start...

looking at the video it looks like 7.5 is better. IIRC you could not move the icons once you pinned them in 7.0 if I recall it moved them around based on some metic of use.
Have they made is so that you can sync contacts without having to go via a hotmail/live account or an exchange mail server?
I know more about UI design than you give me credit for.
I've learned it from talking to my users about what works and what does not. 90% of the time I find that what some one that spends their time writing how to design software say is wrong when implemented and given to users.
7.5 is absolutely better than the original, which lacked a LOT of things that were on other platforms at that time, multitasking being one of them. Now it's just like webOS, which had IMO, the best multitasking feature.
I'm glad they are fixing things. From the screens I've seen the UI is still too big and blocky for me.
Smaller icons please.
Can it do widgests/smart icons yet? Say something to show the latest weather or news in a large format icon? Or voice commands?
