    Hood Prop ideas...

I just got me a Cianci Victory Hood. It's got the stock metal latch and I have hood pins. What are you guys usin' to prop your hood at shows. I kinda want something that can latch, to keep the wind from rippin' the hood off at a car show. LMK

you can get the telescoping kind from o'rileys or some such. alternately (my preference), you can try to fabricate what badass3000 did with his hood, which is essentially build an OEM quality hood-prop from home depot parts.

or if you're REALLY cheap & don't give a crap, a broomstick will work....

We use the spring loaded adjustable chrome shower rod with the rubber ends.

A set of dead stock hood struts (or kill it by drilling it), and there's a spring loaded arm that holds it at the top.

    1. hood struts keep hood from flapping in the wind
    2. no ugly sticks, just looks like stock struts
    3. self-storing unlike sticks

I hadn't thought about killin' the hoodstruts. That would work.

Not really worried about price. I just want to make sure that it's latched when it's up. These Oklahoma winds can get pretty good some days.

I took a metal rod from home depot, 1/4" diameter, then welded on two small carabiners. I put one through the hole on the hood pin and one through the loop on the hood itself on the latch. Holds the hood open and won't fall out if the wind picks up.

Will the dead struts hold it up without collapsing?
