Thread: Benchtesting New Computer

  1. #11
That's totally fine with the temperature there, definitely room to overclock a lot if you wanted if it's at 42 while going full bore. Also, all cores are overclocked to 3.9, just the first core gets the boost to 4.2ghz. That's a silly way of stating they'll overclock your cpu to 4.2ghz lol, but I guess it is alienware... hell they probably didn't even have to touch the voltages or anything to pump it from 3.3 to 3.9, that's nothing these days! Not when you see those same chips running 5ghz+ in people's pc's haha.

I imagine its probably one of those Corsair H50 / H70 zero maintenance water cooling setups. Which are decent if your not down for doing it yourself, but not nearly the cooling properties of an actual water cooling loop.

You should run OCCT for burnin and Benchmarking. It has a really nice UI and a decent suite of tests.

OCCT is definitely the way to go for burnin and benchmarking. Plus it reports the CPU clock speed as it loads it up so you can see it run through the different speed steps.

OCCT worked amazing for me and my burnin/overclock testing.

prime95 can tell you how stable your overclocked cpu

On the Internet you can be anything you want. It's strange that so many people choose to be stupid.

So does OCCT. If it runs through the basic test (100% cpu usage for 1hr) it's stable. If you want to test the stability of more specific hardware or circumstances you edit the parameters and run it again.

I'd reccomend running OCCT for a 24 hr period on initial burnin or when you overclock and decide on a new OC speed. That way you know for sure you're going to be 100% ok. I have had errors come up after 16 hours of testing at 100% load.

I have always wondered this Doc, but I am pretty sure that girl in your avatar isn't wearing any underwear and her vag is showing.
