Who Has a Front Mounted Oil Cooler?

That's pretty much exactly what mine looks like and how it's mounted. Having the inlet/outlet on the side is good and bad. It's good because when you change your oil, you change virtually all of it. It's bad because it means no oil pressure for a fraction of a second longer at start-up.

I was worried that the oil in the cooler would flow back into the oil pan and i would get afalse oil dip stick reading etc(when the engine is not running) so I ran the lines higher than the cooler and that worked for me.
