I've been using Rotella T Syn 5w40 on my rebuilt motor unlike Mobil 1 on my old motor. Gotta love being able to get it cheap at Walmart. Of course I used conventional oil for the break-in.

right neither have I. However i have mixed MTL and MT-90 in my car now which should yield something very close to the MT-85 and its a lot better than whatever was in my trans before.

I use AMSOil lubricants for everything. I've used them since 1979 in drag cars, street cars, motor homes, tow trucks, you name it. I have ALWAYS had superior results. LMK if you're interested.

Blindmist said it correctly. Only use GL-4 in our transmissions.

GL-5 oils have a high sulfur content that gives them extra pressure guard. BUT, that extra sulfur content eats up brass in the transmission and it just so happens that the syncros in our transmissions are made of brass. You can do your own math on that one.

Just make sure it's GL-4 rated.

I'm switching to Brad Penn 10w-30 with a Purolator PureOne filter this week. I know Brad Penn is all Chris at 3SX runs in his monster DD, but Rotella is definitely good stuff too.

I've been running Rotella T 5W-40 in both my '97 VR-4 and my '98 GSX for a couple of years now. Amazing stuff. Looks better after 4k than the Mobil 1 that I used in my VR-4 when I first bought it after 2.5k.

Redline MTL/MT90 cocktail. I didn't hear about the MT85 but I'm guessing I'll try it next time my trans gets dropped... which will be next season the way my luck goes.

Seriously, this is some of the best stuff for our transmissions.

Purelator PureONE is the best oil filter on the market too btw. Nothing has come close to the 99.9% filtration of a PureONE.
