I'm switching to Brad Penn 10w-30 with a Purolator PureOne filter this week. I know Brad Penn is all Chris at 3SX runs in his monster DD, but Rotella is definitely good stuff too.

Since you have a TT i would suggest going with 40 weight instead of the 30, also use the OEM filters their only 6 bucks and really good. I like the fact that its only $38 for an oil change that way.

Its all personal preference, we stock 20+ OEM filters all the time so thats what i grab whenever i change my oil, and it always comes out clean.

Ive had great luck with Mobil 1 10W-30 and 15W-50.

Have any UOA to back any of that claim up? If not you don't know if that oil was good for you or not.

Redline MTL/MT90 cocktail. I didn't hear about the MT85 but I'm guessing I'll try it next time my trans gets dropped... which will be next season the way my luck goes.

I've been a 'cocktail' user as well for the last 9 years. Next change I'll use the MT-85. I just recently learned this new line existed!

I've always heard the general consensus was to never use fully synthetic oil in a high mileage engine if you've been using a non-synthetic oil. Synthetic oil, being thinner than regular motor oil, will find oil leaks where none was before. Is that fact or fiction?

I just got my MT-85 in the mail the other day. I'm going to be doing a drivetrain fluid change this weekend when I drop the trans. I'm hoping it will greatly improve my notchy shifting issues that I have been having Also throwing in a new OEM fork, pivot ball, and slave cyl for good measure while I'm at it.

I've had great success with BG Syncroshift II in the tranny. I've had Ray P rebuild it after my VCU puked its guts after a stripped output shaft and he said everything looked great in there, including the syncros. Shifts like butter at 130k.
