Play or convert re3 file?

Long story short, we had a semi epic fire at work today and got it on the surveillance cameras. I saved the file to a CD and its a re3 file extension.

I've tried googling different players and converters but havent had any luck. I am guessing you really need the DVR program we use for the surveillance, but I figure there has to be another way.

Anyone got any players they know of that will work for me?

Its either part of the blu-ray spec or a backup software.

Thanks Alan. I figure its a file format only our DVR software can read. I'll be at work again tomorrow. I'll see if I can save it as a different file type, or even just download the playback exe file for the dvr program.

vlc will play anything usually anyway. download the cccp codec pack and then install vlc player.

Tried it, no good. Oh well.

You can try renaming the file to a known video file extension (like MP4) and try to open it with a good program like Media Player Clasic.
