unless someone asks me to critique their work, I subjectively look at it based on what I feel it looks to me.

if my first emotion is that I like the photo, I tell the person the photo looks good. nothing more. if the person asks how he/she can improve, then I put my 2 cents. unless they ask, it's just a photo they took as a hobby for fun.


not everyone is looking for critique where they need to check their settings, the background, the time of day when they shot the picture, etc. for most its a hobby, not an obsession. for some of us, we get paid to do it and have to be more mindful than the average shooter.
