    My head unit did the same thing when I blew up my alternator a few years ago

    Yeah, you were right. The alternator was semi-working, then gave out altogether. My friend replaced it for me when I wasn't looking, the bastard.

    Aren't you glad you didn't go replace the headunit now?

    I just knew as soon as I read the post with what it was doing it had to be a voltage issue. At least you got it fixed.

    Yeah, thanks. Still my head unit is about half a decade old, so I might change it out anyway.

    Eh. I had my last head unit for almost 9 years. It finally just crapped out one day. I was sad to replace it.
